Launch of the Second Phase of the Training Program for Third-Year Students in the Renewable Energy Department
On the morning of Sunday, 5 July 2026, the activities of the second phase of the training program for third-year students in the Renewable Energy Department commenced at the headquarters of the Libyan Center for Solar Energy Research and Studies in Tripoli, as part of efforts to enhance the practical aspect and link academic knowledge with field applications.
The program was opened by Dr. Yousef Al-Naas, Director General of the Center, with a speech welcoming the students. He emphasized that this training represents a real opportunity to develop practical skills and acquire expertise in the field of solar energy and renewable energies. He pointed out that the center opens its doors to the students and considers them ambassadors to spread the culture of renewable energy and enhance awareness of its importance in achieving sustainable development.
The first day of the program featured two specialized lectures:
• Fundamentals and Strategies of Energy Efficiency.
• Measuring the Efficiency of Lighting Lamps, followed by a practical application to measure the efficiency of lighting systems.
As for the second day, it included a lecture titled:
Biomass... Nature's Energy for a Sustainable Future, which covered the concept of biomass, its applications, and its role in diversifying energy sources and achieving environmental sustainability.
